About Mississippi Baptist Student Missions
In 1947, one university student from Mississippi was sent to serve on the very first collegiate summer missionary team to lead a youth revival and Vacation Bible School. That mission trip to Hawaii marked the beginning of our Mississippi BSU summer missionary program that continues today with a vision and commitment to mobilize Mississippi BSU students for short-term missionary service. Since that time, more than 5,000 students have been sent through BSU to serve around the world as summer or semester student missionaries.
Mississippi BSU believes that missions is KEY in the discipleship of our students, and we are committed to helping them reach our campuses, communities, and the nations with the message of hope we have in Christ. Our goal is to see students mature and grow as disciples of Christ, willing to go wherever the Lord leads, and prepared and motivated to invest in Kingdom work wherever they are.
Summer and semester opportunities are available through our Southern Baptist career missionary partners serving in the U. S. and internationally.
To serve, a student must be enrolled in a Mississippi university and be active in BSU or a local Baptist church.
