In John 5:14, Jesus said, " You are the light of the world." He was talking about us, His followers. But when does our light become interrupted? Oftentimes, it's when we become self-centered. In Hebrews 12:1-3, we're reminded to fix our eyes on Jesus!
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
When you and I focus on Jesus and what He's doing, through us, the world-wide church, to bring the Gospel to every nation, tribe, people and language, then He gives us a passion for the mission and prompts us to respond in action. That might be giving, praying or going... but it might also be through serving on a regular basis or mobilizing people to participate in the Great Commission.
