Trusting Him and His Timing

Last week was great and filled with lots of opportunities to share the love and message of Christ with people in the city!

Children at camp

There was a team here from Mississippi, so Wednesday-Friday my teammates and I helped the team with a children’s English camp for two elementary schools near us. Each camp included rotations for sports, crafts, music, an English lesson, and a Bible story. About 50 children attended each camp and were taught truths from God’s Word!

Before the week ended, each of the national partners (Thai believers that help us with ministry and translating) shared their testimony with us. One of our national partners shared that he first heard stories from the Bible at an English camp facilitated by a team like the one that came this week. He was given a New Testament in Thai and began to read 5 pages each day. After consistent reading, he came to believe the Word was true and placed faith in Christ!  That was nearly 30 years ago, and now he is helping share the hope of the gospel with children in the same way!

His story was encouraging to my team for many reasons. We don’t always see the fruit of the ministry we are doing, but we can trust that God’s Word will accomplish the purpose for which it was sent, and that it will not return empty (Isaiah 55). His story helped us consider the bigger picture of how the Lord is working here. We know that we are just a small part of the story of how the Lord is drawing people to Himself here in Thailand, and we are thankful to hear a testimony of how He used people like us 30 years ago.

Please pray for the children who attended our camps.  Pray that they would remember the stories from the Bible, and that like our national partner, they would receive the Word as truth.  Pray that the children would place their faith in Jesus for salvation.  Pray that as my teammates and I continue to minister to the people here, we would faithfully proclaim God’s Word and His gospel, trusting Him with the results.
